Helzberg Diamonds was founded in 1915 by Morris Helzberg and currently in the United States there are approximately 230 stores. After a short period of time Mr. Helzberg became ill and the company was taken over by Morris’ son Barnett at the age of 14. In the 1960s Barnett’s son Barnett Jr. took over the company’s operations when his father became Chairman of the Board. In 1988 Helzberg was sold to Berkshire Hathaway which was owned by Warren Buffett. In 2009 the former Vice President of fine jewelry at JCPenney stores was named Helzberg’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Helzberg sells so many different types of diamond and other fine jewelry and is a household name. They stand by their impeccable reputation and are leaders in the diamond industry. It makes life a little easier when diamond shopping when you can go to a place that you know has been around for a very long time and has had as much success as Helzberg. Now that they are a part of Berkshire Hathaway they are protected by another strong organization which makes people want to buy their products more than a no-name jeweler or jewelry company.

Helzberg Diamonds have been a household name for almost a century and customers feel confident in purchasing their diamonds and jewelry from Helzberg because of their impeccable reputation for quality and high standards. They are a member of the American Gem Society which demonstrates their commitment to serving their clients with the utmost professionalism and integrity.

They stand behind the quality of their merchandise and all of their diamonds and jewelry are backed by a Jewelry Guarantee. This means that every time you purchase a Helzberg Diamond you can be assured that if you are not satisfied with your purchase that you can return it within 60 days or exchange it. They will also guarantee for one year the mounting of the diamond or other precious gem and will repair or replace the mounting if any defects are found within the 12-month time period. They also offer a lifetime guarantee in which they will replace your diamond or other precious gem if it is lost from its original mounting simply by normal wear.

Helzberg diamonds are a family tradition in so many homes around the world. They are known for their beauty and daintiness as well as for their quality and craftsmanship.

To some people, the size of the diamond they buy is very important. However, diamond size is not the most important thing to consider when purchasing a diamond.

Depending on your budget, diamond size may or may not matter so much because there are so many other qualities to think about when purchasing a diamond. You may be able to afford a larger diamond and you may think you are getting a great deal, however consumers have to know that just because you’re getting a diamond that is a few more carats than the one your friend’s girl has on her finger, it is not necessarily of the highest quality.

If you go to a jewelry store or a diamond dealer and you see a 3 carat diamond ring that costs $12,000 you may think that you would be getting a great deal. It is, however, the other factors you need to consider in order to really know if you are paying for what you are actually getting.

Larger diamonds tend to be quite expensive but it doesn’t necessarily cost expensive because it is big. There are other criteria that go into determining the cost of a diamond. For example, if the diamond is five carats and is high on the clarity scale, then the diamond is going to be quite pricey. However, if the diamond is five carats and it has many flaws in it, then the price will be significantly lower. You may see a five carat diamond ring priced at $12,000 and you may see one right next to it that is $20,000. The reason for this is because the higher-priced diamond ring is a little higher on the clarity scale.

For some people size is the most important aspect of a diamond. For other people it is how well the diamond reflects the light. Many people would rather have a smaller diamond that shimmers easily in the sunlight. You may pay a little more for a diamond of this quality, but you will have a diamond that is of higher value in the end and one that will look absolutely stunning on the finger of the person who is wearing it.

When choosing a diamond ring for that special someone it is very important to educate yourself on diamonds in general so that you get the best value for your money. Diamonds are forever and you want to buy something you can pass down to future generations to come.

When jewelers weigh diamonds they have to be sure their measurements are as accurate as possible so they have to find a diamond scale that is proven to be well-balanced and correct. There are many different types of diamond scales available for purchase and buying one can be quite confusing if you do not know a little bit about the differences of the scales.

First, you have to know what type of scale you are looking for based on how many diamonds you will be weighing and how heavy the diamonds are. You probably want something that is pretty portable so that you can move it from counter to counter for ease of accessibility. There are many different brands of scales on the market so if you want to be sure you are getting the highest quality machine and that it will last you for as long as possible.

Scales used to weigh diamonds and other gems are referred to as carat scales and can weigh them in grams, carats, grains or ounces. Many of them have digital displays and have automatic shut off features. Most of them also come with at least a year’s warranty in case something goes wrong with the device.

If you are interested in spending a bit more money on a diamond scale, then the Ohaus Corporation has dozens from which to choose. They are calibrated and come with a lock which prevents calibration access. Some of the scales have stainless steel pans which make it easier to weigh the gems and will make them less likely to fall off of the scale. Diamond scales that tend to cost a bit more money are the ones that higher performing and a bit easier to use. They are more precise in their readings and they are easier to caliborate. The more expensive scales also come with a longer warranty that protects from any damage.

The Ohaus Corporation has a scale that weighs diamonds in increments as small as 0.001. This will ensure the most accurate weight. When you order your scale online the company offering the product will most likely offer free or reduced shipping.

Any scale that you choose has to be based on the necessity of the machine. If you are running a business and want to be as precise as possible with the weight of a diamond or other gem then spending a little more money would probably be a good idea since you are dealing with customers who want to get the most out of their money.

Diamonds are rare and beautiful gems that are found deep inside the earth. They have been adored by humans for centuries and their name comes from the Greek word for invincible. When finding a diamond source people look to deep inside the earth which is where these beauties are formed.

Diamonds are formed by pressure and high temperatures. They are formed way beneath the earth’s crust and are composed entirely of carbon. Diamonds are formed at depths of approximately 90 miles deep inside the earth and are formed over millions of years. Diamonds are formed at a temperature of 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature gets hotter than this the diamonds will not form correctly. Most of the diamonds we see are over a billion years old by the time they reach the earth’s surface.

Diamonds are raised to the surface when magma from far beneath the earth comes up. Once the magma cools, it forms a rock called kimberlite or sometimes referred to as lamproite, which is sometimes used as an indicator that diamonds can be found in that area.

Smaller diamonds may also be formed under certain extreme conditions. When meteors or asteroids strike the earth’s surface they may produce small, microdiamonds. Most of these diamonds are not large enough to be valuable but serve as a indicator where meteors made their impact.

For hundreds of years, India was the world’s top diamond source but eventually all of these resources were used up. Today, nearly half of all the diamonds mined come from Central and Southern Africa. There are also larger mines located in Brazil, Australia, Siberia and parts of Canada. The diamonds are then transported around the world to be cut in places like New York, Antwerp and Tel Aviv.

Diamonds have been found in various places all over the world and people continue to find diamonds in places we did not even know existed. Diamonds are the earth’s hardest naturally formed material and they are best known for their beauty.

When people fall in love they make a commitment. Not only to the one they love and eventually go on to marry, but a commitment to themselves. A promise to wait for that very special person, their soul mate, to remain pure until the day of their marriage. One of the signs of that promise is evident when a person wears a purity ring.

Diamond purity rings come in all shapes and sizes and can be set in any type of metal. They are usually worn until the day the person gets married and then the ring is exchanged for the wedding band. People who wear purity rings take them very seriously and usually pass the ring down to their child and encourage them to make the same promise they made.

When you purchase a purity ring they will come with a Covenant of Purity contract that will remind you each and every time you look at it, that you are striving to do your best and wait for that perfect person to come into your life.

If you are in the market for a purity ring and you have a bit of a larger budget, there are many beautiful diamond purity rings. They are set in any type of gold or platinum and are personified by the way they are crafted. Diamond purity rings come in many different shapes and styles and can be customized to any taste. Whether you are looking for a larger ring set in 14 carat gold with one larger diamond surrounded by two smaller diamonds, or a single diamond in the shape of a cross or heart, it can made for you.

Diamond purity rings are a constant reminder of the love you have for someone and that you are willing to wait for them until the day you say, “I do.” The ring and your commitment will make you feel good knowing that you have put your heart and soul into a promise that you know you are going to keep. It will make you and your family feel proud in knowing they raised you right and that you are showing your love for them and for God.

When you decide to purchase jewelry containing diamonds, it is very important to do your research and make sure you are getting the best quality for your money.

People are often confused about where to go to learn about diamond quality. There is a lot of information on the internet so that you can educate yourself on the quality of a diamond. If you know the cut you would like to purchase or at least the size you are contemplating, then you have to know what makes one diamond more expensive than another.

Diamonds are graded according to cut, clarity, color and weight. So just because you are looking at a diamond that weighs five carats doesn’t mean you are getting one of the best. You may go into a jewelry store and see a diamond ring that contains a diamond that weighs four carats but only costs $10,000. Perhaps this is because the diamond has a low color or clarity grade. It also could be that the diamond has several flaws in it. You may also see a different diamond ring that costs $15,000 or $20,000 but it may appear quite small. This could be a piece of jewelry with a diamond in it that is only one or two carats but the clarity of the diamond is nearly flawless, making it more expensive.

Especially if you are on a budget, you will have to decide what is more important to you, finding a larger diamond that doesn’t reflect the light very well or that is dull looking or a diamond that is a bit smaller but is brilliantly cut and even when a bit dirty always shows its brilliance and beauty.

When you are looking to purchase a diamond and you are concerned about diamond quality it is essential that you do your homework and try and know what to look for.

There are four characteristics (the 4 C’s) that go into learning and educating yourself on diamond quality; cut, clarity, color and carats. The first one, cut, is probably the most difficult characteristic to understand. People often confuse the cut of the diamond with the shape of the diamond. The cut refers to the way in which the diamond is crafted and how brilliantly the light will reflect off of it. The shape of a diamond is whether it is a heart, a pear, an oval, etc. The next thing you should be aware of is how clear the diamond is. Most diamonds come with flaws that were created when the diamond was formed. The clarity grade of a diamond is dependent on how many flaws it contains. The next thing you need to know about is what the color of the diamond is. The more color a diamond has to it, the less the light will reflect it. Colorless diamonds are often most desirable but also tend to be more expensive. The last piece of information you need to learn about is carat weight. Diamonds that weigh more often cost more however again, the price and value of a diamond will be based more on the clarity and cut instead of how much it weighs.

When you purchase diamond jewelry you will receive a diamond certificate which contains information on the four “Cs” previously described. This way if you wish to have your diamond insured, you will know exactly what you have and what you need to protect it.

Fifty thousand years ago a meteorite crashed into the desert in Arizona and created what is now called the “Meteor Crater.” Segments of this meteorite were strewn all across the desert. In 1893 Henri Moissan discovered small quantities of a sparkling new mineral that had such brilliance never before seen on earth. After years of research, he concluded that the mineral he discovered was made up of silicon carbide. In 1905 Tiffany and Company gem expert George Kunz suggested the new gem be named for the man who discovered it and that sparkling new gem became what today is known as the Moissanite Diamonds.

Moissanite is different than diamonds in a few ways. It does not try and imitate the diamond, it actually surpasses it in many ways including brilliance, fire, luster and resistance to temperature. It is also less expensive than a diamond. You can find a diamond for about $3,000 to $8,000 per carat whereas a moissanite gem costs approximately $325 per carat. Moissanite tends to be tougher than a diamond is the second hardest gemstone on earth.

People looking to purchase a diamond for an engagement ring other special occasion might be surprised to know that moissanite is actually better than a diamond in so many ways. It is far less expensive per carat weight than a diamond and it will probably hold up longer than a diamond will. It is less likely to chip because its texture is stronger and it can endure heat and fire better than a diamond.

Moissanite Diamonds are actually sold by Moissanite and Company in Las Vegas, Nevada and can be purchased at their store or on their website. If you decide to purchase moissanite from Moissanite and Company you can ask questions both on their website and in person and you will be assured knowing that the gem you are receiving is of the highest quality. You will also feel good that you purchased something for your loved one that is beautiful and will likely hold up longer than the average diamond. It is a gem that can be worn with any outfit and one in which you will feel comfortable knowing that you made a wise purchase.

Natural diamonds are diamonds that come straight from the earth and were formed a long time ago. They have not been treated or enhanced in any way by a lab. They go directly from the mine in which they were found to the dealer. Most natural diamonds are large and clear and that is why they are so rare and very expensive.

The difference between natural diamonds and created or treated diamonds is that with natural diamonds nothing is done to them before they are sent to the dealer. Synthetic diamonds, or ones created in a laboratory, or simulated diamonds have been treated or otherwise modified prior to sending them to a dealer. Synthetic diamonds are a creation of a unique technological process. These are diamonds created in a laboratory. A knowledgeable gemologist could easily tell the difference between a natural and a synthetic diamond using special equipment. To the average person, however, the two can be fairly indistinguishable.

Natural diamonds come to us straight from the ground and that ground can be located virtually anywhere. We get natural diamonds from Canada, Australia, Russia and South Africa. If you were to see a diamond directly after it was mined you probably wouldn’t recognize it as the diamonds you are used to seeing. That is why not all of the diamonds mined are good enough to be called gems. Diamonds that are very small or are poorly colored are referred to as industrial diamonds and are used for machines and to make other tools. They are therefore utilized to craft other things and are not wasted.

If you are looking for a diamond that will look good in any setting, it is a good idea to consult with a diamond jeweler or dealer that is reputable and knowledgeable. This way you will avoid making the mistake of purchasing one thing and getting something else.

It is your 25th wedding anniversary or you are getting engaged to the person of your dreams and you are thinking about getting them a gift that comes from the bottom of your heart. A gift that will last them forever and one that they know came especially from you. When people are faced with this situation they often think of diamonds. Diamonds can be very costly and by the time you think diamonds and the type of metal in which you want it set, it can run you over $10,000.

There is a place called Diamond Lexus that offers laboratory-produced diamonds. Nexus diamonds are diamonds that are made or simulated by a human being. They are high quality synthetic diamonds that look very much like natural diamonds but without the high price tag. Like a mined diamond, nexus diamonds will last forever and look beautiful.

So what exactly makes nexus diamonds different than mined diamonds? Nexus Diamonds have the same look and feel as a mined diamond however they are not composed of the same material. Mined diamonds are essentially pure carbon; nexus diamonds are not. When compared to a mined or “real” diamond, it comes closest in color to a flawless, “D” category diamond. It is sharp enough to cut class and it will last forever. To anyone who does not have any sophisticated equipment will not know if the diamond you are wearing is a mined diamond or a nexus diamond.

When seeking a diamond for a special loved one, why not save a few dollars and choose something that looks like a mined diamond, will look absolutely gorgeous on her finger and will last a lifetime? That way perhaps you will have a few extra dollars in your pocket for a special dinner in which to present your generous gift. Nexus diamonds are exactly like real diamonds in every single way except their composition but who needs to know that? The answer is, no one will know except you.

Pave Diamonds are little, round diamonds that are placed on a band made of some kind of metal. Each diamond is separated by a small piece of metal however the pieces of metal or so tiny that they are virtually invisible to the naked eye. When you look at the setting it appears that the ring is blanketed in dozens of shiny, shimmery diamonds. When ordering a ring with pave diamonds you will see that it differs greatly from ordinary diamond rings because the diamond literally looks like it is complete made of diamonds.

Because of the unique design of the pave diamonds you can customize your ring in any way you choose. For the woman who has a smaller finger, a slimmer band with pave diamonds will look exquisite and very dainty. Pave diamonds enhance the plain, ordinary setting and is what will separate your ring from someone else’s.

Pave diamonds are most commonly used when jewelers want to enhance perhaps a larger stone. Pave diamonds are also used to decorate the prongs that hold the larger diamond or in creating a three-sided band where the diamonds can be appreciated from any angle. Unlike the pave diamond setting, the channel setting uses no metal between the diamonds.

The nice thing about having pave diamonds in your setting is that you do not necessarily have to spend a lot of money. That is because pave diamonds are small to begin with and you can just choose a band of 14 carat gold for example, and it will look absolutely beautiful. Also, you can take a diamond from a ring that your grandmother gave you, choose another setting perhaps in a different kind of metal and have pave diamonds all the way around in addition to the larger stone. That way you have kept the tradition of having an ancestor’s gift but modified in such a way as to be a little more modern and more beautiful!

Furthermore, unlike any other ordinary jeweler store or diamond dealer, McGivern has a 100% refund policy. This means if you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason you can ship it back to them with no questions asked.

McGiverns complies with the United Nations Kimberly Process and they also certify that the diamonds they receive from their suppliers are guaranteed to come from legitimate sources. This way you can be assured that the diamonds you purchase from McGiverns are 100% conflict free.

If you are looking for a diamond go to a place that is well known and is still around and run by the original people that opened its doors more than three decades ago.

Diamonds have been given as gifts for special occasions such as engagements, weddings, milestone anniversaries, birthdays, and so on and they have been a favorite of people for many generations. Protecting and cleaning your diamond is an important part of helping the diamond retain its value or even help it gain value over the years. But what if you want to know how much your diamond is worth? Determining diamond value is sometimes a tricky thing and you have to know a little something about the process so you can be sure if you even want to sell it, that you will get a good price for what you have.

Also known as the “four Cs”, there are four factors that determine what a diamond value will be. The more colorless or clear the diamond is the more valuable it is. Even if a diamond weighs three carats, if it does not have that clearness in color it will not be worth as much as a diamond that say weighs 1.5 carats but is nearly colorless.

The next factor that is considered in valuing a diamond is the clarity. The clarity of a diamond is basically how well the diamond reflects the light. Diamonds with many flaws in them will not reflect the light as easily and brilliantly like the diamonds that have none to nearly no flaws. These diamonds, however, are more expensive and obviously more desirable.

Another important thing to know about your diamond is the cut of it. Diamond cuts are referred to as facets and the more a diamond has the more the diamond will sparkle. Also, the way the diamond is crafted will determine how much brilliance it has and how it will reflect the light. Diamonds that are not cut correctly may have no luster and will be dull and dark.

The last thing you should know in the group of the “four Cs” is how much your diamond weighs. This weight is measured in carats. The more carats your diamond weighs the higher its value will likely be. However, keep in mind that if your diamond is dull, has a yellow tint to it and has flaws it will be worth less than a diamond that weighs less but is clear and flawless.

When seeking the value of your diamond it is very important to know your facts so that you will know better what to expect when going for an appraisal and actually getting a quote as to what your diamond is worth.

If you are interested in buying a diamond and this is your first endeavor into this process, then it a good idea to use a diamond broker. Diamond brokers are able to get you the best price possible because they negotiate with the diamond dealer and they work with the diamond dealer to guarantee payment to them and for you they will guarantee you a refund if you are not happy.

People typically use diamond brokers when they are in the market for a diamond that is a little more costly. For example, if you are seeking a diamond that has nearly no flaws or whose color is rare, then seeking out a diamond broker is probably the right route to go. The reason people go to a diamond broker is because they have the knowledge and the expertise to find the best quality diamond for the best value. By utilizing a diamond broker you are able to save about 50% of buying the diamond retail because diamond brokers go straight to the source and buy from people who sell them wholesale or actually find and cut the diamonds themselves.

So how do you know if the diamond broker you will be using is legitimate? You have to do some research and speak to different people who perhaps used a diamond broker in the past, someone that they trust will get them the best value at a fair price, to use when selecting a diamond to purchase.

Diamond brokers know where to go for great deals because they likely have been in the business a while and know various people who either cut, trade, sell or import diamonds. They know from which sellers they can get the greatest deal and they also know if those people are honest and fair. They are a type of mediator when it comes to diamond selecting and purchasing. You tell them the color, cut and size of the diamond you wish to buy and what your budget is and then they do the big job of going to find you the perfect diamond for the best price.

If you are looking to purchase a diamond, instead of going to a jewelery store or a diamond dealer, why not head into New York City to the Diamond District? This place is incredible! It is the world’s largest area to shop for diamonds of any size or shape. Here you will find the highest quality diamonds at extraordinary prices.

There are over 2,600 independent businesses located here and they sell diamonds and other fine jewelry. Purchasing jewelry or diamonds in the Diamond District is convenient because you can go from store to store and compare prices without having to travel far distances. It is also centrally-located to subways, trains, buses and parking garages. Imagine having the convenience you want without all the hassle of going all over to find the perfect diamond at a reasonable price.

Approximately 90% of diamonds that come into the United States first go to New York City through the Diamond District. The Diamond District is located at 47th Street and because the vendors are located so close to where the diamonds are actually cut and traded, the business owners can sell the jewelry and the diamonds at fantastic rates. However, just because the jewelry and diamonds are sold a better price, does not mean they lack expertise. These jewelers posses the same knowledge about diamonds and other fine jewelry that you would find if you went to a jewelry store or diamond dealer.

The Diamond District has so many different vendors in which to choose in order to find that special gift for the person of your dreams. Instead of using tons of gas money driving around trying to compare prices on diamonds, why not go someplace that has many choices all within walking distance? You can buy your sweetheart a beautiful gift and then relax and have lunch at one of the restaurants located a short distance away.

Whether you are thinking of a gift to present to your potential bride-to-be or your sweetheart for your milestone anniversary, you want it to be extra special. That is why so many people like custom jewelry. It gives a person a chance to create a design on paper and see it come to life before their very eyes.

When it comes to purchasing a piece of jewelry, especially jewelry that houses one or many diamonds, it is fine to go to a standard jewelry store or diamond dealer and pick something out. However, when you want something extra special, something that comes straight from the heart, you might want the design to be something you created, rather than what has already been created and is on display at the jewelry store.

When picking out jewelry that contains diamonds, you first have to know all you can about choosing the right diamond. You have to have the knowledge about the weight, the clarity of the diamond, which cut you think your sweetheart would like or would go best with her personality, and you have to be sure you stay within your budget. When you create a design yourself, you can customize it to be large or small, with as many or as little diamonds as you wish. Also, you don’t necessarily have to stay within standards just with colorless or white diamonds, perhaps you would want to create your jewelry with one white diamond and surround it with a few other little red or blue diamonds. As always, when it comes to shopping for diamonds or any other type of jewelry, it is important to do your homework and figure out which store will most likely give you the most value for your money.

One of the best things about custom jewelry is the ability to take a picture or draw something and modify it the way you want. Perhaps you noticed a diamond tennis bracelet on a friend but did not completely like the fact that there were diamonds going all the way around the bracelet. Therefore, you design a bracelet for yourself where the diamonds only go halfway around. And perhaps instead of having one row of diamonds you have two rows of smaller diamonds. What ever your taste, you can tailor your custom diamond jewelry any way you choose and you will take pride in knowing that your sweetie is wearing something in which you took the time and feeling to create only for them. A token from you, so when they look at it they will know they are something special.

When someone makes a decision to go out and purchase a diamond, it becomes a very big decision indeed. There are so many different things to think about when you decide to buy a diamond or a piece of jewelry with diamonds in it. It is important to do your research and learn everything you can about them.

The very first diamonds were found thousands of years ago in India. In the 1700s diamonds were also found in Brazil. More recently, diamonds were found in a mine in Arkansas. The largest diamond ever found in the United States was named the Uncle Sam Diamond, weighing in at approximately 40 carats was found in Murfreesboro, Arkansas.

Learning all about diamonds can be a difficult task. There are so many things to know about them. There are different sites on the Internet you can go to and there are many books you can obtain from a bookstore or library that will give you information all about diamonds.

There are colored diamonds that are rare and therefore will be very expensive. Then there are the clear, colorless diamonds that, based on their clarity and size, are less expensive. It is very important to come up with a budget with which to plan your diamond-buying experience so that you know what you will be able to purchase with the money you have saved.

When learning all about diamonds it is essential to be sure you know about the “Four Cs” when choosing a diamond. First, there is the carat. This is the weight of the diamond and based on this information can make a diamond more or less expensive. Then there is the cut of the diamond. This is how the diamond is shaped by the jeweler and will determine how light bounces off of it. The most common cuts are pear, emerald, marquise and brilliant. The next “C” is clarity. This determines how pure the diamond is. Diamonds come in all varieties and can come completely without flaws or with many of them. Finally, there is the color of the diamond. The most common colors are white, yellow and brown. Diamonds also come in a wide variety of other shades such as red, blue, pink, and even black. A diamond that has a very light coloring is considered a fancy diamond. They are rare, expensive and sometimes difficult to find.

When we think of diamonds we think of them being beautiful, precious gems that are worn by people of royalty. There are several diamonds that became famous. There is the Cullinan Diamond, which was founded in South Africa in 1905. This diamond weighed approximately 3,000 carats and was cut into nine large stones and almost 100 smaller stones. Probably more known than other famous diamonds is the Hope Diamond. This diamond was found in India in the 17th century and weighed in at approximately 45 carats. Its owners were Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. It can be seen today on display in Washington, D.C. at the American Museum of Natural History.

There is something about diamonds that many people do not know. Diamonds are used for many reasons and only about 20% of them are used for jewelry. Diamonds are also used for cutting tools, polishing hard metals, record player and videodisc needles and in laboratory instruments. They are used in a variety of different ways to help various industries get work done. They are beautiful to look at and reflect the light of the sun and other artificial light making them glowing, radiant works of art.

There are many things people should know when purchasing a diamond. Not only should you have a budget in mind and know what size, shape, color and price range you would like to be in, but you should also be sure you take one additional step. That is going through the diamond appraisal process.

You made the decision to purchase a diamond for a special occasion whether it be proposing to the love of your life, celebrating a milestone anniversary or other special event. Now you have to be sure that investment is protected. That is when you go to a jeweler or a diamond appraiser and have a diamond appraisal.

Many people think that when you have a piece of jewelry or a diamond or other stone appraised that you basically will be able to replace what you purchased with exactly the same item. Unfortunately, however, it does not work that way. When you buy a diamond it is very important to get in writing exactly what you bought. For example, the size of the diamond, the cut, clarity, weight, setting (especially if it’s one from a famous designer), where you purchased the diamond, if there was a model or item number what that information is, the color of the diamond and obviously the cost at which you purchased it. If you have all of this information written or typed out on the jeweler’s letterhead, when and if you lose or if your diamond is stolen, it will be much easier to replace and you will be sure to get back what you are entitled to.

You can have your diamond appraised at a jewelry store or an appraiser who does jewelry as well as diamond appraisals. When seeking out an appraiser be sure it is a reputable one and one that will not try and scam you. This process will be made easier when you have the information from the original sale documented. It is also recommended that once you purchase and have the diamond appraised, that you have it appraised continuously once every three to five years.

In 1976, Swiss-based company Chopard introduced happy diamonds into their jewelry collection. This collection featured diamonds that floated freely amid two translucent sapphire crystals so when the person wearing it moved around, the diamonds seemed to have a weightlessness about them. This way of setting the diamonds made them sparkle in a different way and better captured the radiance of the gems.

The diamonds seem to dance around making them appear “happy” which is how the Chopard happy diamond name came to be. This unique design makes the happy diamond jewelry collection very popular among different types of people.

The jewelry in which happy diamonds were set was something innovative and what distinguished Chopard from other ordinary jewelry craftsmen. The happy diamond jewelry collection was created as timeless pieces and are worn by many generations as a family heirloom. The happy diamond collection is what boosted Chopard’s popularity in the jewelry world because of the timelessness of the designs.

The unique style of the Chopard collection is what led to the company receiving an International Diamond award. This special achievement is what began the evolution of the happy diamond collection expanding to ladies’ watches, and other jewelry lines including the “Happy Sport” line, “Very Chopard” and the “Happy Hearts” line.

People are always seeking distinctive gifts for their loved ones for various occasions. When it comes to purchasing a diamond or jewelry with diamonds, buying a piece of jewelry with happy diamonds create a more individualized and creative way of wearing a diamond. They are lovely to look at and so many different styles from which to choose.

When they look at the beautiful sparkling gems on their wrist, neck or ears they will know that they are truly special and the gift they have received is truly extraordinary. It is a gift that looks lovely when you are going out for a special occasion and is an opportunity to express your feelings for someone you really care about.

Blood diamonds, also known to some as conflict diamonds or war diamonds are diamonds that were mined in an area where there was a war. These diamonds were typically sold to finance a war effort in places near Africa from which 60% of the world’s diamonds come.

Many of us wearing these small glowing pieces of carbon, whether it be on a necklace, bracelet, earrings, etc are not even aware of where they originated. These gems that we so often take for granted were made available to us due to the sweat and sometimes hard labor of miners extracting them from some deep, dark place beneath the Earth.

What most of us don’t realize, however, is that any diamond can potentially be a blood diamond. When we purchase a diamond, it is usually for a special occasion like an engagement, anniversary, wedding, etc. However, what most people don’t know is that when you buy a diamond you have to be quite cautious and be sure that what you are buying is something that is legal and that it is not something that was a result of a war-driven effort that involved murder, rape, mutilations, and the like.

There is a process that was created in Kimberely, Africa that protects the country from diamonds that were mined by people intending on utilizing them to finance certain harsh war efforts. Today, diamonds that come from Africa are worth billions of dollars but unfortunately they are mined in slave-like conditions whereas the African people have to work on their own land and do not reap any rewards from sale of the diamonds they mine.

Any diamond can be a blood diamond if someone, somewhere was hurt in order for the diamond to be mined or sold. There have been songs written by rappers about blood diamonds and a movie as well made starring Leonardo DiCaprio. In some ways make a mockery of how these precious gems got their name; blood diamond, conflict diamond, war diamond. The real truth is sorely undermined in that the tiny little gems we hold dear to our hearts and are passed down from generation to generation, sometimes have a very sad past. That is why, truly, any diamond unless you know specifically where it came from, can potentially be a blood diamond.

These earrings can be purchased online on various websites and in brick and mortar stores. These are authentic jewelry items many which come with Rhodesian backs and are hypoallergenic. There are several different styles that can be purchased. Some of the more common types of earrings are those that are in a flower design. These earrings can be found in a 3/16 inch size.
Some of the earrings for purchase combine diamonds and pearls for a special unique two toned effect. There are actual diamonds and pearls in the earrings.
